|||||
Serie of 4 photographs of the demolished surface of the PDR and 5 photographs of the empty parliaments space inside. Research about the former GDR Palace of the Republic in East Berlin, the most representative building of the GDR, with a parliament on one side and a cultural center for the people on the other side. The building was closed in 1990 by the west german government, and the remaining asbestos had been totally removed during the last years. Now it is waiting for its demolition. | Video
double projection. A camera travelling in the empty space of the former
parliament of the Palace of the Republic, Berlin Mitte. The slow travelling is like a scan of the emptiness. The view to the outside is blurred, because the windows are covered with a spray to fix the last aspestos remains in the air. The same substance gives the floor a silky, waxy cover, the PDR is ready for the archive of history. DVD, 7 min. |

| model of the PDR in 1:50, wood, concrete, color spray, jeans and acrylglass | |||||
| A simplified model of the PDR in 1:50. Inside the model of wood, concrete and acrylglass, a subwoover makes the body vibrating, as if standing outside a club, with no chance to pass the doormen. The KDR is our proposal for a new use of the empty building. The PDR is the last „object of desire“ of the berlin club culture, that has used a lot of empty buildings in Berlin temporarily before their final sale or demolition. | |||||
